Progress

I've been thinking about what is so intriguing about the Before and the After. Be it weight loss, a landscape after a flood or fire, beauty make-overs or a renovated bathroom we seem to be drawn to these transformations. What appeals to me is not just the change or the obvious physical difference in losing 50lbs but what is possible. I'm captivated by the Before and After because it means something has been done and in a way it's a measure of time and progress. Life isn't stagnant or doesn't have to be, the grass grows and wildlife returns, we take what we dislike or what is hindering us and we try improve it. We improve our experience. Here, I am focusing this blog on the Before and After's implemented by us for intended positive change.

In the last year I have instigated all sorts of change and I suppose there are lots Before and After's in there. I quit a job I felt stuck in, got married (yes, I asked), renovated my own house as well as someone else's and made my health a priority. Perhaps I'm in a blizzard of Before and After's thus my current intrigue with them. This blog is just a small bit documenting those Before, After's and in-betweens when things were difficult or thrilling or, unfortunately, stagnant.

I'm starting with some of that in-between, Between our longtime home in Oakland California and on our way to renovate a family home Boulder Colorado. Lots of renovation posts soon to come. Thank you to my husband Josh for being the master of the point and shoot.
